What is strength really? Is it lifting the heaviest weights in a fixed pattern, governed by a set of rules? How transferable is your “strength” to your daily living? Is your strength performative or generalized ? These and more are the questions that guide my exercise selection for physical enhancement.

It’s excellent at enhancing trunk stability as the body has to adapt to load while in motion building strength and stability through the entire body . From the forearm to the shoulders , spine ,hips and and ankles. Greatly improving bracing and force generation.
Aesthetics are not left behind as this movement really loads the upper back muscles like the traps , shoulders and even the lower body is not left behind as the time under tension on the entire body under load maximizes hypertrophy all round building more muscles.
The CNS is responsible for keeping you in control of your actions when under extreme load or stress. Being able to keep your wits when you pick up heavy ass weights in your major lifts (SBD) is extremely important . Heavy loaded Carries are great for priming the CNS , getting the body to adapt and get familiar with load.
Most commercial gyms might not have specific equipment for loaded carries but there are more flexible variations. Dumbbells, kettlebells and anything remotely heavy can be utilized as equipment performing loaded Carrie’s. You could fill two gallons of water and walk them around your compound, no excuse.
