TRY PLAYING TODAY!

Remember when you were a kid , when you ran without calling it exercise, played till you were forced inside, did somersaults without calling it gymnastics, laughed without holding back , climbed without fear of fall. The older we grow , we fix ourselves into these preset definitions or maturity and order and seldom leave space for foreign experiences in our daily lives.

In the context of physical development , the boxes are bigger. Most people pick a specific sport or training method and in most cases tend to stick to that particular discipline throughout their training lifespan.

Specificity in itself is not the enemy as it is the surest method to maximal profit from the selected discipline or activity but the Lack of inquiry and exploration into other methodologies creates a vacuum needing filling as the years compound.

The body and brain are capable of absorbing so much information and actually thrive on learning new patterns and pathways.

Neural plasticity is an often overlooked factor in the reasons why we perform physical exercise related activities. Challenging your brain and body with new movement patterns are a staple for maintaining full cognitive function as we grow older . Neuron are constantly fired as the brain is constantly remolding to  forming new motor skills and reactions.

Studies show that locomotion and strength training positively amplify neural plasticity and functionality , acting as a preventative and restorative measure for most aging related loss of ability. We’re all growing https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cmv2bsJgmI8/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

My favorite thing with movement training is the freedom of exploration, the pass to play , to reconnect to the childhood pathways of unrestricted conscious movement.

Play is an underrated resource for cognitive and physical development.

I guess what I’m saying is , try something new today , don’t take yourself too seriously, touch the floor , try to do dangerous things carefully, laugh out loud , move more and play seriously.
